Senior Manager - User Insights
**General Description**
We're searching for a Senior Manager, User Insights, to join the Services & New Business (SNB) division at Samsung Electronics America. This position will be based in Mountain View, CA. SNB is an agile "start-up" team with highly talented and results oriented individuals, organized directly under the CEO. We take an interdisciplinary approach to transform the way devices are combined with software and services - increasing consumer engagement and creating new revenue opportunities - to accelerate company growth. We are responsible for strategy, product marketing, and business operations for services including Intelligence (Bixby), IOT, Samsung Pay and Samsung Health. We also incubate and operate growth platforms, including award-winning industry-firsts such as Samsung Rewards. Responsibilities The Senior Manager, User Insights, will identify and lead strategic improvement initiatives in emerging technology fields such as Intelligence, IOT, mobile commerce and digital health. He/she will wear multiple hats to build an insights and data driven planning process and enable an integrated infrastructure and reporting tools in highly-energized, fast-paced, and collaborative working environment. The ideal candidate is versatile, forward thinking, pioneering, and passionate about synthesizing data and feedback into actionable insights to drive operational excellence and innovation. The SNB team will look to you to help identify and implement process improvement for insight-driven planning, performance measurement, dashboards, and reporting. This role will report to the Director, Head of Investment and Business Planning, and engage with cross-functional teams including DevOps, Consumer and Market Intelligence, Product Marketing, Marketing, Retail, Customer Care, and Finance/Legal/HR.
* Mine user data and partner with SEA Consumer & Customer Insights team/3rd party agencies to design and execute user research & testing, with the ultimate goal to identify barriers and fosters in user growth, engagement, and monetization.
* Collaborate with SEA Consumer & Customer Insights team and Customer Care team to provide fresh insights, and a data-driven & strategic framework to make critical business decisions on investment, business model, and GTM plans
* Manage and facilitate proper usage of market research, user study, data analytics, and business metrics tools the power user
* Establish operational and financial innovation metrics and dashboard to measure all aspects of the strategic and operational performance including Program effectiveness, ROI, pipeline contribution, and ensure appropriate resource/budget allocation
* Develop overall strategic & operational excellence and innovation framework, to identify methods, tools and reference resources
* Derive business and operational actions from VOC
**Necessary Skills / Attributes**
Minimum Requirements
* Bachelors' degree preferably in Business (Strategy, Finance/Accounting), Industrial Engineering, or Computer Science
* 10+ years of total experience with 3-5 years of direct experience in one or more of the following disciplines: strategy and operations, business planning, consumer and market intelligence, and VOC management in high-tech/Mobile/Telco environments, preferably software or services
* HOWEVER if you are smart and have the relevant experience that proves your capability, talent trumps degree/tenure as always
* Leadership experience in project management, change management and/or process optimization
* Willingness to travel up to 30%, within North America and to South Korea Desired Skills
* Proven track records to coordinate and implement process end-to-end and continuous improvement
* Ability to lead and handle multiple time-sensitive projects and self-navigate to determine key stakeholders and decision makers
* Quantitative analysis to guide data-driven decision making
* Management consulting experience preferred
* Comfort with ambiguity and continuous change in a fast-paced environment
* Cross-organizational collaboration with ability to influence without authority
* Outstanding communication skills with ability to deliver concise messages
